Versha Katira MBBS,MS (Anatomy),FIAMS (Genetics) has been a teacher in anatomy for the last more than 40 years in state medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh as well as some other medical, dental, and paramedical colleges. She obtained her MBBS degree from Government Medical College, Patiala; joined as a demonstrator (anatomy) MLN Medical College, Allahabad, and got her postgraduate degree in anatomy. Later, she worked at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, and LLRM Medical College, Meerut, as a lecturer, where she was promoted to Associate Professor and Head. She joined Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, as Professor and set-up the genetics laboratory for chromosome culture from lymphocytes. Thereafter, she worked as Professor and Head and Vice Principal, Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad, where she set-up the department of anatomy and organized various workshops for endoscopic sinus surgery in cadavers.After retirement, she worked as Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy, Harsaran Dass Dental College,Ghaziabad. She is now working on two books—“Textbook of Anatomy for Dental Students”and “An Atlas of Human Imaging”.
