|About the Author||
Priya Ganesh Kumar MD, DGO Medical Director, Sainiwas Health Care (India). She is the first to introduce the art and science of colposcopy with advanced treatment for cervical precancerous lesions in Thane, Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is IARC/WHO/FOGSI certified colposcopy trainer. She is practicing as preventive oncologist, colposcopist, and gynaec laproscopist. More than 500 gynaecologists have been trained in colposcopy across India along with hands on training till now by her. She has performed over 50,000 colposcopies, saved more than 5000 women from hysterectomy, and treated more than 5000 precancerous lesions with cryotherapy and leep therapy. Also she is official master trainer for course in colposcopy, VIA and preventive oncology for National Health Mission, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, under Ayushman Bharat.
She has written a book Colposcopy in Practical Gynaecology, 2/e published by CBS PD, published papers in various international journals, contributed chapters in FOGSI FOCUS, is the reviewer for JOGI, FOGSI journal and PhD guide for Bhartiya Vidhyapeeth.
His main area of interest is cytopathology and Wilms tumor molecular pathology. He has published over 140 papers. He has undertaken several research projects on cervical smear screening methods suitable for developing countries, including HPV testing by hybrid capture on self-collected sampels, cervical acid phosphatase staining and HPV testing on cervical smear slide scrapings. He has started liquid based cytology using Thin Prep for the first time in India from is laboratory.
