    About the Author

    Dr. Harbans Lal, working as Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, has more than 30 years of experience teaching Biochemistry including Nutrition to undergraduate and postgraduate students at Pt. B.D. Sharma Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak (Haryana). He has published nearly 120 research papers and review articles relating to different topics in Biochemistry and on Nutrition in several National and International Journals of repute. He has also supervised a large number of Ph.D. and M.D. students and written 5 textbooks.

    Dr. Lal has also worked as Visiting Faculty at Louisiana State University Medical Centre, New Orleans, USA; Department of Biosciences, M.D. University, Rohtak, and Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. He is a life member of the Nutrition Society of India (NSI), Association of the Chemical Biochemists of India (ACBI), and Laboratory Animal Scientists Association (LASA). He has also been a Vice President of the ACBI and the Convenor of the NSI Rohtak Chapter. Dr. Harbans Lal is a recipient of several National and International Awards, viz. Nutrition Society of India Young Scientist's Award for Experimental Nutrition; World Health Organization (WHO) Fellowship Award for Laboratory Quality Control Standardization; Doctorate-cum-Hon. Fellowship of the International Academy of Ophthalmology, Belgium; Fellowship of the ACBI; and Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital Oration Award of the ACBI.
