About the Author

Komal N Chavan MD,DNB,MNAMS,FCPS,DGO,FICOG,Diploma in Reproductive Medicine (UK-SH Germany) is currently Medical Director and Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Chavan Maternity and Nursing Home,Andheri West,Mumbai.She is attached to HBT Medical College and Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital,Juhu,Mumbai,as Honorary Assistant Professor.

She is presently Chairperson,FOGSI Medical Disorders in Pregnancy Committee (2019–2021), and Member, Managing Committee, MOGS & AFG. Having more than 15 publications in international and national journals to her credit, she has passion for academics. She also has contributed chapters in textbooks and articles in magazines. She has been honoured with prizes such as Dr DK Tank Prize (2016 and 2019), Dr RD Pandit Prize (2019), Dr Shraddha Upasani Prize (2017) and SMART Conference Prize (2017).

Niranjan Chavan MD,FICOG,FCPS,DGO,DFP, MICOG,DICOG,Diploma in Endoscopy (USA) is currently Professor and Unit Chief, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital and Medical College, Mumbai. He has been a teacher for MS, MD, DGO and MBBS students for the past 28 years and as examiner for theory and practical examinations conducted by MUHS,KUHS,RGUHS,Mumbai University.

He received training in endoscopy from Royal Free Hospital,Hampstead,UK,under Dr Adam Magos and has a diploma in endoscopy from Staten Island,New York,USA,with 35 credit hours.He has published many peer-reviewed articles in international and national journals and has delivered numerous orations, keynote addresses and guest lectures at various international and national conferences.

He has been Chairperson, FOGSI Oncology Committee (2012–2014),and Convener, FOGSI Violence Against Doctor Cell (2015-2016), and presently is Secretary, MOGS, and Premises Secretary, AFG (2019-2020).

He has received national and international awards from various Obsgyn organisations and is the only Indian on the editorial board of European Journal of Gynaecologic Oncology (EJGO) and Clinical and Experimental Obstetrics and Gynecology (CEOG).
