Hair Loss Disorders, Restoration and Management is a part of the series of handbooks on dermatologic disorders and gives an overview of hair loss for the practising dermatologist. The book includes pattern alopecia and telogen effluvium, and, in addition, chapters on pseudofolliculitis and common pediatric hair disorders. Apart from a separate chapter on trichoscopy, a detailed review of hair disorders in females is included. Evidence-based treatments with elegant diagrams have been added to make understanding topics easier. A chapter on advanced hair restoration techniques has been included. The book ends with a chapter on hirsutism which is one of the commonest manifestations of cutaneous hyperandrogenism.

Kabir Sardana MD, DNB, MNAMS is currently Professor, Department of Dermatology, Dr RML Hospital and PGIMER, New Delhi. He was previously a Professor at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, from 2006–2016. He is an alumnus of MAMC (1991–96) and completed his MD from Lady Hardinge Medical College in 2000. He is a DNB holder and a member of the National Academy Medical Sciences. He has been Secretary and Vice President, IADVL, Delhi branch, and Secretary, Society of Pediatric Dermatology, Delhi. He is the author of more than 130 peer-reviewed scientific publications cited on Pubmed, and author/editor of a number of books, listed on Google books and Amazon some of which are Diagnosis and Management of Skin Diseases: An Evidence-Based Approach, Comprehensive Textbook of Dermatology, Lasers in Dermatological Practice, Clinical Approach to Pigmentary Disorders, Clinical Approach to Acne Vulgaris, Clinical Approach to Fungal Infections, Handbook of Eczema for Practitioners, Fungal Infections: Diagnosis and Treatment and Systemic Drugs in Dermatology. His clinical research interests focus on acne vulgaris, dermatophytes, psoriasis, alopecia areata, pigmentary disorders, lasers in dermatological practice, hyperandrogenism and pediatric dermatology.
Ananta Khurana MD, DNB, MNAMS is currently Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology, Dr RML Hospital and PGIMER, New Delhi. She did her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in 2007, MD from University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, in 2010, and DNB (Dermatology) degree in 2011. Earlier, she was Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatric Dermatology, Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, Delhi. She is an assistant editor with the Indian Journal of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS and has to her credit publications in national and international journals and chapters in various books. She was awarded for academic contribution to IADVL’s ACAD e-group during Dermacon, Kolkatta, 2017. She has presented papers at the American Academy of Dermatology annual conference and annual conference of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, apart from presentations/talks at the state and national level.
