The book tries to examine in detail each and every facet of horticulture in the Indian and international context. Although special emphasis has been laid on foreign trade i.e. exports and imports it presents a complete picture of all aspects relating to production post-harvest operations marketing processing organic/contact farming role of WTO or major problems of horticulture statistics which is the weakest link in the whole study. The all-India picture about area and production of horticulture as presented by the National Horticulture Board has been completely reinforced with the vital data compiled from different sources so as to keep the reader fully aware of the situation. This study exhorts the planners economists administrators and all those in the field of horticulture to set their Sights at much higher goals to take the country far ahead.
