    About the Author

    Anil Kumar DNB, IDCCM, IFCCM, MNAMS is currently a Consultant in Department of Pulmonology and Critical Care, Fortis Hospital, Noida, UP. He has been a consultant intensivist for the last ten years.

    Dr Kumar completed his postgraduation in anesthesia from University College of Medical Sciences and associated Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi. He worked as a senior resident in Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, and thereafter he joined liver transplant program at Fortis Hospital, Noida. Later he joined Department of Critical Care Medicine in Max Superspeciality Hospital, Patparganj, Delhi, where he completed his IDCCM under the guidance of Dr YP Singh. He has cleared his IFCCM examination under the guidance of Dr Mrinal Sircar. He has completed many postgraduate courses in pain, hospital infection control, palliative care, accident and emergency, hospital management, clinical research, pharmacovigilance and family medicine.

    Dr Kumar has been on the faculty of various academic courses in critical care and emergency medicine. He has to his credit many publications in journals of national and international repute, has coauthored books in the past, and is actively involved in teaching and conducting continuing education programmes. He has formed Society of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine (SCCEM) with the objective of imparting education through training programs, workshops, CMEs, healthcare camps, and courses in preventive medicine for doctors and paramedical staff in intensive care and emergency medicine.
