The theme of the Postgraduate Course at this years APASL is to give a live demonstration of the thought process of the master clinicians. Eighteen cases have been selected to cover almost entire gamut of liver diseases. These day-to-day clinical problems have been presented in brief as concise capsules. On the basis of radiological and other investigations the moderator has discussed an algorithmic approach to the clinical problem. Where relevant, experts from radiology, pathology and surgery have given a brief overview of the topic as well. The focus of the course book is a synthesis of clinical, radiological and pathological modalities to reach the correct diagnosis. After all, the treatment can only be as good as the diagnosis you make. The book also includes, for the first time, an approach to understanding the symptoms specific to liver diseases. Moreover, in this volume one would find comprehensive and updated reviews on wide-ranging subjects related to pathophysiology and diagnosis of liver diseases.
