About the Author

KR Varmah is currently Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, Puthencruz, Kerala. He received his BSc (Engg) degree in electrical engineering from Kerala University in 1970 and MSc (Engg) degree in electrical machines from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Madras University, in 1976 with first rank and a gold medal. He was Professor and Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,Manipal Institute of Technology,Manipal University,and later Head, Department of EEE, Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology. He has also served as Deputy Controller of Examinations (Technical) at Manipal University for nearly three years. He has over 37 years of teaching experience,including nearly 20 years of postgraduate teaching in industrial drives,and control and illumination technology. He has presented various papers at national and international conferences. He has
many books to his credit,Control Systems; Power Electronics; Fundamentals of Electrical Machines and Drives CBS and Modern Control Theory .


Ginnes K John is Assistant Professor,Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology,Kochi,Kerala.He obtained BTech (2005) in electrical and electronics engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University,Kerala.He received MTech (2008) in power electronics from Amrita University,Coimbatore, and currently is a research scholar in the same university. He has been teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students since 2009. He is coauthor of the book Fundamentals of Electrical Machines and Drives.

 

Chikku Abraham is currently Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science,Kochi,Kerala.He received his BTech (1997) in electrical engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, and MTech (2008) in energy systems engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He is a certified energy manager by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India (2004). Currently he is a research scholar at Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, in the field of power electronics. He is coauthor of the books Power Electronics and Fundamentals of Electrical Machines and Drives.
