Praveen Kumar MD is Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. He has contributed 44 publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and 11 chapters in different textbooks. He has keen interest in public health programs and has vast experience of facilitating training. He has conducted training in almost all states of the country and also in the Pacific Island countries. He has played major role in updating various government training packages like IMNCI, F-IMNCI, nutritional care of HIV infected children, and facility-based management of severe acute malnutrition.
Piyush Gupta MD, FAMS, FNNF, FIAP is Professor, Department of Pediatrics, University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi. He has edited/authored 27 books and monographs including Textbook of Pediatrics, Clinical Methods in Pediatrics, Textbook of Preventive and Social Medicine, Essential Pediatric Nursing, PG Textbook of Pediatrics, Principles of Medical Education, and Ghai Essential Pediatrics. Besides, he has 175 publications in indexed journals. Dr Piyush Gupta has served as technical expert/advisor to Government of India, WHO, UNICEF, PHFI, and ICMR. He has been conferred fellowships by the Royal College of Paediatrics, UK, and Indian Academy of Pediatrics. American Academy of Pediatrics awarded him for work on micronutrients. He has served as editor-in-chief of Indian Pediatrics (the official journal of Indian Academy of Pediatrics). His major initiatives include workshops on research methods and scientific paper writing; and increasing awareness for practising rational management of diarrhea and pneumonia in children. His thrust areas are nutrition, medical education, and biomedical editing.
