|About the Author||
P Mathialagan PhD is currently Professor and Head,Department of Veterinary and AH Extension Education,Madras Veterinary College, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), Chennai. He is an extension education scientist having a vast experience in the field of animal husbandry extension education. He graduated from the Madras Veterinary College,Chennai,and later completed PhD in Animal Husbandry Extension,Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. He was awarded Post-Graduate Diploma in Educational Technology by the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad. He was awarded FAO Fellowship and studied high-level communication at University of Queensland,Australia.
California International University awarded doctorate for his contribution to animal husbandry science through Tamil language for the benefit of farming community. He has written more than 100 books about science, management, literature and two lexicons. He served as editor of monthly magazines Kalnadai Kathir and Thannambakkai (self confidence).Now he is the chief editor of International Journal of Development Extension,a research journal,and Kalnadai Velanmai,a farm magazine.
He won the ‘Best Writer Award’of the State during 1986 and 1987 for his book Mattuppannai (dairy farming) and Kozhippannai (poultry farming). He was awarded “Paventhat Pugal Parappunar” (1992), and “Kalaimamani Award”(2007),by the Government of Tamil Nadu for his contribution towards literature.He has visited Australia,South Korea,South Africa,Kenya,Dubai,Japan,Malaysia and Singapore for research and academic purpose.
