Anil K Jain MS, MAMS, FAMS, FRCS (Eng) is Director Professor and Head, Department of Orthopaedics, University College of Medical Sciences & GTB Hospital,New Delhi, with UG and PG teaching experience of over 33 years. He contributed immensely to the clinical research. He published extensively on spinal tuberculosis (44 publications) and contributed as Team lead to frame guidelines for bone and joint tuberculosis for the Ministry of Health, Government of India. He was trained in spinal surgery from Harlow Wood Orthopaedic Hospital and Royal Hospital for Sick Children,Edinburgh,UK0.
Prof. Jain has delivered over 450 lectures in several national and international conferences. He has published 122 papers in national and international peer reviewed journals.His H index is 26 and I index is 10 of 49. He was the Guest Editor of for symposium on “Tuberculosis of Spine” (Feb 2005) and Management of Neglected Trauma” (July 2007). He is the chief editor of , Editor and Associate Editor of Neglected Musculoskeletal Injuries and ASSI Textbook of Spinal Trauma and Infection,respectively.
He was Editor of Indian Journal of Orthopaedics (2006–2012) which was relaunched in current format with web release and online submission system.IJO got indexed with Pubmed and Science Citation Expanded from January 2007.He is Deputy Editor of JBJS (Am).He has delivered over 200 lectures and conducted research methodology sessions in national and international forum. He was the recipient of ASSI (Association of Spinal Surgeons of India) Publication Award (2005, 2011), SN Buxi Best Publication Award of Indian Orthopaedics Association (2005, 2011), Silver Jubilee commemoration lecture of IOA (1994), President lecture of IOA (2014), Kini memorial oration of IOA (2015). He was the ; Chairman, Scientific Committee of IOACON (2006, 2011) and APOA annual conference, New Delhi (2012). He firmly believes in developing research temper among trainees so that evidence-based solutions can be developed and practised by orthopaedics surgeons with available infrastructural facilities.Various editorials written by him reflect the fact that the uniform delivery of core education to attain core competence is the key to deliver “minimum standard of orthopaedic care to one and all.
