    About the Author

    JOSEPH R. ROBlNSON is Professor in the School of Pharmacy at the University of WisconsinMadison, where he has
    taught since 1966. He edited the texts, Sustained and Controlled Release Drug Delivery Systems (Marcel Dekker, Inc.)
    and Ocular Drug Delivery, and is Series Editor for Marcel Dekker, Inc.'s "Advances in Parenteral Science." Since 1978 he
    has been editor of the Journal of Parenteral Science and Technology, and he also serves as a consultant to the Food and
    Drug Administration and the pharmaceutical industry.

    VINCENT H.L. LEE is Associate Professor at the. University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, where he has
    taught since 1979. His major research interest is peptide and protein delivery across intestinal, ocular, and other
    biological membranes. He is also concerned with novel drug delivery systems' design and evaluation. He is a member
    of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Association for
    Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, New York Academy of Sciences, Association of American Colleges of
    Pharmacy.
