Knowledge of the solubility of various polymers in different solvents is important in assessing their chemical resistance and their application potentialities in the field of paints fibres and casting films. Keeping this in mind chapter 11 describes the criteria of polymer solubility thermodynamics and phase equilibrium in polymer solutions. Polymers are non- homogenous with respect to molecular sizes and individual characteristics of varying lengths etc.
