Product Description

    Details

Currently, two subjects 'advances in pharmaceutical technology' and 'biopharmaceutics' are mandatory, each with a 100-mark practical paper in MPharm (pharmaceutics). However, in the absence of a clear-cut guideline for the experiments to be conducted to fulfill the requirements of the practical papers, it is an uphill task for the teachers as well as the students to carry out the experiments. Being teachers in the field of pharmaceutics, the authors have often experienced this problem and hence this Manual.

This Manual is aimed at the final year undergraduate and first year postgraduate students of pharmaceutical sciences. It includes a series of experiments, some upgraded from the existing BPharm experiments and some designed on the basis of published research articles. Experiments in this manual are categorized in three sections-techniques related to preformulation, controlled drug delivery, and experiments with relevance to biopharmaceutics. The experiments are supported with diagrammatic representations wherever necessary. A discussion is provided for each experiment, guiding the students with do's and don'ts in the experiment. Effort is also made to cover the basic information regarding experiments related to particular topic discussed. The Manual will not only serve as an experiment guide but also is designed to be useful in the MPharm project work.
