    is currently Principal Dean, Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University, Jolly Grant, Dehradun, Uttarakhand; former Professor and Head, Department of Pediatrics, WHO Collaborating Centre for Newborn Training and Research, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He has been the Past President National Neonatology Forum of India 2020. He is a passionate teacher who has devoted his life caring for newborn infants and their families and educating newborn health professionals at national and global levels. He steers a multimodal education program along with his team of national leaders in facility-based preterm care, neonatal resuscitation, neonatal ventilation, CPAP and newborn nursing in South-East Asia and many countries in Asia. He pioneered web-based education (www.ontop.in.org, smartphone apps) that has helped in dissemination of evidence-based newborn practices globally. He continuously motivates health care providers to embrace quality improvement for reaping maximum dividends from translation of best practices www.pocqi.org.He has authored many popular books on neonatal health.

He has been member of many important committees on child health. He was awarded Dr BR Ambedkar Centenary Award for Excellence in Biomedical Research by ICMR (2009) and the prestigious Ihsan Dogramaci Family Health Foundation Prize that was conferred on him at the World Health Assembly, Geneva, in 2018.

     

    Anu Sachdeva MD, DM

    is currently Additional Professor, Department of Pediatrics, WHO Collaborating Centre for Newborn Training and Research, AIIMS, New Delhi www.newbornwhocc.org. She has been instrumental in developing online courses in neonatology for pediatricians and nurses. She has active interests in education and research. She has to her credit over 95 publications and 15 book chapters.
