    About the Author

    Basant Kumar Sinha PhD is former Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, Bihar. Currently, he is visiting faculty at different colleges in Bihar and Jharkhand,including medical institutions,where he is teaching microbiology and biotechnology. He obtained his MSc (Microbiology) and PhD degrees from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, and Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, respectively. He has 40 years of teaching and research experience in microbiology both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and acted as advisor for several postgraduate students. He has also brilliant carrier in research and handled several research projects funded by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), National Agricultural Technology Project (NATP), New Delhi, and WHO (Geneva). He has to his credit over 110 research papers published in different national and international journals of repute such as Toxin Rev. (USA), Mykosen and Zentrablatt fur Microbiolol (Germany), Vet Record (London). He has been honoured with several prestigious awards such as “Hamdard National Foundation award” for his best research paper in immunology,“Academic Promotion award” by Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, for his distinguished services.     Rinesh Kumar MVSc, PhD is currently Professor and incharge, Department of Parasitology, College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Rewa, MP. He obtained his PhD in veterinary parasitology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar, Bareilley, UP. He is a university gold medalist in MVSc. He has to his credit several research papers published in different national and international journals.He has submitted more than 25 gene sequence in NCBI.He was a collaborating scientist of NATP Project. His flair for wide-ranging reading and research resulted in his contributing many chapters in books and popular writing on scientific and current issues in newspapers. He is coauthor of the book Principles of Defense Mechanism of Body.
