    About the Author

    Agadurappa Mahadevaiah MBBS,DABO (USA)

    was the founder surgeon and senior consultant at Basavanagudi ENT Care Center, and consultant at Sagar Apollo Hospital, Bangalore. After completing his MBBS degree in 1962 form Bangalore Medical College, he completed internship in neurosurgery and otolaryngology at the Ottawa General Hospital, Canada (1963); general surgery residency at Norwalk General Hospital,Norwalk,USA (1964); residency programme in otolaryngology at St. Luke’s Hospital, New York, USA (1965-68), fellowship in otology at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital (1968-69); and passed American Board of Otolaryngology (1968). He was lecturer in ENT at Bangalore Medical College (1970-71) and honorary consultant in otolaryngology and skull base surgery at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (1980-98). Agadurappa Mahadevaiah MBBS, DABO (USA) Dr Mahadevaiah has been a well-known otologist in India and performed more than 25,000 ear surgeries. He was faculty member in many temporal bone dissection and live surgery workshops all over India since 1986.He had otology fellowship programme at his hospital and trained many ENT surgeons. He was President of Indian Society of Otology (1991-95), President of Association of Otolaryngologists of India (1995), and President of All India Rhinology Society (2005).

    Bhavin Parikh MS (ENT),Fellowship in Otology

    is founder consultant ENT surgeon at Baroda ENT Care Centre and visiting ENT surgeon at Global Hospital and Metro Hospital & Research Institute, Baroda, Gujarat.He pursued his postgraduation in ENT and head and neck surgery at Baroda Medical College, MS University, Baroda, and fellowship in Otology under Dr A. Mahadevaiah and Dr H Vijayendra at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Following the completion of the fellowship, he worked with Dr A. Mahadevaiah at Basavanagudi ENT Care Centre. He received advanced training in microscopic and endoscopic lateral skull base surgery at Hospital Nord, Aix- Marseille University, Marseille,France under Professor Jacques Magnan.He has published a number of well-read articles.
