    Details

Textbook of Biochemistry, 7/e Including Multiple Choice Questions and Answers is the thoroughly revised and updated edition of the text, keeping in view new syllabus introduced by the Medical Council of India | National Medical Commission under the CBME guidelines. All the chapters are ‘competencybased’. Complete focus has been kept on simple and easy to understand language so that the students can assimilate the subject very easily without any fear as biochemistry in itself is a hard and non-palatable subject, at a glance, but once interest in it is created, it is the most palatable out of all the other subjects for medical students. This book should also prove to be useful to various postgraduate students of life-sciences of Indian universities and elsewhere as such courses have in their syllabi one question paper of ‘clinical biochemistry’ in any form. In this book, more emphasis has been given on schematic cycles/diagrams, rather than putting difficult and fierceful structures in them.

Still, a new concept of giving flowcharts in this book is an original idea of the authors by which the students and the readers shall be able to grasp topic very easily. Authors have experienced that students shall not find such idea of flowcharts neither in any indigenous or foreign book. The flowcharts tend to serve as ready-reckoner for the students. Once flowcharts occupy a place in the memory, everything becomes very easy to learn for the students/readers.

As far as possible, every topic has been well illustrated by introducing concerned diagrams so as to make the students and the readers easily understand the mechanism of reaction.

At the end of every chapter, sufficient number of short answer questions and long answer questions has been incorporated so as to enhance the knowledge of students by self-evaluation. By going through MCQs given at the end of every chapter, they shall be able to qualify any national or international examination for their future prospects as biochemistry is a fast developing and upcoming branch amongst all medical subjects.
