    About the Author

    Jyoti Sarin PhD (N), MSc (Pediatric Nursing), BSc (Hons.) Nursing, is Dean – Faculty of Nursing, Director- Principal of MM College of Nursing (Deemed to be University), Mullana, Ambala (Haryana), India. She completed her graduation in 1985, and post-graduation in 1995 with Pediatric Nursing specialization. She did PhD in Nursing in the year 2005 from RAK College of Nursing, University of Delhi.

    Dr Sarin has been awarded President of India Silver Medal for academic excellence in BSc (Hons) Nursing and President of India Gold Medal for Master of Nursing. She has also been awarded TK Adrenwala prize for the best work done in research in Masters in Nursing Dissertation. During her 36 years of illustrious teaching services, she is associated with baccalaureate, postgraduate and PhD Nursing programs. She has a significant number of published works to her credit.

    Apart from this, the author has participated and presented papers in various workshops at State, National and International level. She had been a member of the core group for development of Standards for Nursing Practice Quality Assurances Model WHO project. She has participated in international practical training course on Quality Assurances in Health Care at Indonesia and SIDA’s Program in child survival at Sweden and Vietnam.

    Last but not least, she is President for Indian Association of Neonatal Nurses, Certified national trainer for Neonatal Resuscitation Program; Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood illness and virtual capacity building program for midwifery faculty organized by INC & UNFPA.

    Smriti Arora PhD (N), MSc (Pediatric Nursing), BSc (Hons.) Nursing, is currently working as Professor same , Principal at College of Nursing, AIIMS, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. She has work experience of more than two decades. She completed her BSc (Hons) Nursing, MSc (Pediatric Nursing) from College of Nursing, AIIMS, New Delhi, and PhD (Nursing) from National Consortium, Indian Nursing Council and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She has previous work experience at Amity University Haryana, Jamia Hamdard and AIIMS, New Delhi. She is a recognized PhD Nursing Guide at Indian Nursing Council.

    She has mentored and guided more than 35 postgraduate nursing students. She has also participated as a ‘Mentor’ in the training program “Nationwide Capacity Building of Nursing Professionals for Comprehensive Management of coronavirus in Children” organized by the Government of India.

    Dr Smriti Arora has been appreciated by Indian Academy of Pediatrics for her contribution to Basic newborn care and resuscitation program. She is a National Trainer for coronavirus Pediatric care, Nationwide Neonatal Resuscitation Program and human immunodeficiency virus. She is also recognized as a national mentor for the flagship LaQshya program across India and an active member of Nationwide Quality of Care Network (NQOCN). She also participated as a co-investigator in the project titled ‘Enhancing Quality of Midwifery Education in Bihar’ supported by UNFPA. Apart from organizing more than 50 workshops and conferences, she is an active member of many professional bodies like TNAI, IANN, NNF, PNNFI, SPHERE and CNRS.

    Last but not least, she has authored a couple of books and published more than 50 articles in national and international journals.
