    About the Author

    Ashutosh Kar is ex-Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Lingaya's University, Faridabad, India. He has more than 38 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels both in Indian and African universities. He has published more than 50 research papers in national and international scientific journals. He has taught at School of Pharmacy, Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) (2002–2005); Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar (1999–2002); Al-Arab Medical University, Benghazi (Libya) (1997–1998); College of Pharmacy (University of Delhi) (1990-1994); Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Nigeria) (1976–1987); RNS College of Pharmacy, Gormi (MP) (2005–2012); and Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram (2014–2015) and Lingaya's Vidyapeeth (2015–2019). Prof Kar has been conferred with five great academic awards. 'Lifetime Achievement Award 2008' by the Indian Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologists, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, on 19th January, 2008, for his immense contribution to the Indian Pharmacy Profession. 'APP Outstanding Achievement Award 2014' by the Association of Pharmacy Professionals, Bhopal (MP) at the Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad, Gujarat on 18th January, 2014. 'Lifetime Achievement Award 2014' by the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers (APTI) of India (Haryana Branch) at the 1st Conference held at the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, on 23rd August, 2014. 'Scroll of Honor 2014' by the Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR), University of Delhi, New Delhi (India) on the occasion of Gulden Jubilee Year on 14th November, 2014. 'Lifetime Achievement Award 2018' by Nirali Prakashan, Pune, held at Delhi on 29th July, 2018, for his valuable contributions to the Pharmacy Profession in India. Prof Kar has written 40 textbooks including Chemistry of Natural Products Vol. 1 (2010); Chemistry of Natural Products Vol. 2 (2012); Chemistry of Natural Products Vol. 3 (2015); Advanced Inorganic Chemistry Vol. 1 (2017); Advanced Inorganic Chemistry Vol. 2 (2019); Pharmaceutical Analysis I; Pharmaceutical Analysis II published under CBS banner. Prof Kar has 10 years stint of industrial experience in public limited companies as General Manager (R&D), Production Manager (Food) and Research and Development Officer.
