While serving in the Indian Army, the author was responsible for organising the canine resources in consonance with the requirement of strategic and tactical employment of army dogs to meet the military objectives.     About the Author

    B S Panwar is former Additional Director General and Head, Remount Veterinary Services, Indian Army. A postgraduate from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, and PhD from JNKVV, Jabalpur, he was commissioned in to the Indian Army in 1969. He was Commandant, RVC Centre and College, Meerut Cantonment, wherein Indian Army’s state of the art Dog Training Faculty is located and extensively involved in scientific breeding, management, and specialised training. Army dog trainers (ADTs) are also militarily and professionally trained at this establishment to meet the requirements of armed forces.
