About the Author | D Venkatesh, MD, is serving as Professor, Department of Medical Education, Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, Karnataka, and was former Head of the Department of Physiology at the same institute. For more than 37 years, he has been teaching physiology to UG and PG students and guiding PhD students. He has published/presented more than 110 scientific papers in national and international journals and conferences. He is a recipient of FAIMER (Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research, Philadelphia, USA) fellowship for innovation in medical education. He has been bestowed with KP Puthuraya National Award for the "Best Teacher in Physiology" and ML Gupta Award for "Substantial Contribution in Medical Education" awarded by the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India. He is on the editorial board of several journals and has contributed as reviewer for reputed national and international journals. He has also served as an inspector for the Medical Council of India. HH Sudhakar, MD, is serving as Professor, Department of Physiology, Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka. He has an experience of 28 years of teaching physiology to both UG and PG students. He has published/presented more than 40 scientific papers in national and international journals and conferences.
