Earlier, she was Assistant Professor of Microbiology, North DMC Medical College and Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi. She did her graduation from Lady Hardinge Medical College and postgraduation /senior residency from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. She has worked with organizations like National Aids Control Organization (NACO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as regional technical specialist. She has been a facilitator of various national level workshops and training of trainers on laboratory accreditation and quality assurance in microbiology.
