A sought-after educator within the veterinary industry, Monique has presented at many major veterinary conferences. Monique’s passion for animal-friendly veterinary medicine and preserving the human-animal bond shines in her teaching style. She has extensive experience educating veterinary and animal-care professionals at the symposium, conference, and in-clinic level.
An innovative educator, she has designed and presented curriculum used nationwide for the Ceva Behavior Advocate Program and the Fear Free Certified Professionals program in addition to presenting at numerous veterinary continuing education conferences. Monique has authored for industry periodicals and has work published in peer-reviewed journals. Monique’s favorite educational opportunity is visiting teams in their home clinical environments. Being invited into a hospital, clinic, daycare, or shelter affords a unique opportunity to provide specific and relevant suggestions to modify methods or procedures. These personalized sessions enhance the experience for the animals and the veterinary professionals in the environment where they work together every day.
When she is not practicing medicine at Mercer Island Veterinary Clinic, writing, or educating, she loves spending time with her own animals including working sheepdogs, cooking, and spending quality time with her husband.
