    About the Author

    Malay Das is currently an Assistant Professor (Stage 3) at the Department of Life Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata, India. He received his Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 2005. He subsequently undertook Postdoctoral research trainings at the US-EPA (2005-2008), Virginia Tech University, USA (2008-2009) and Helmholtz Zentrum, Munich, Germany (2009- 2012). He has been actively involved in research on diverse aspects of bamboo genetics and genomics for more than two decades. He is acting as Editors of internationally reputed journals such as ‘BMC Genomics’, ‘Frontiers in Plant Science’ and ‘Advances in Bamboo Science’.

    Liuyin Ma received his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in 2013 and joined Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU) as an Associate Professor in 2014. His research focuses on elucidating nutrient signals and stress tolerance mechanisms in Moso bamboo and Chinese fir. Currently, He is a member of Early Careers Editorial Board (2022-2024) in Forestry Research.

    Amita Pal has retired as a Senior Professor of Bose Institute, Kolkata, India. She has published more than 100 research papers and about 15 book chapters on frontier fileds of genetics and genomics in an array of plant systems. She has contributed mainly in bamboo genetics and marker development for at least two decades.She is the elected President of Archana Sharma Foundation of Calcutta, Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, Fellow of the West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology and member of the Plant Tissue Culture Association of India.

    Chittaranjan Kole is an internationally reputed scientist and has original contributions in the fields of plant genomics and biotechnology leading to the publication of more than 150 research articles in globally leading journals. He has also edited over 170 books for the leading publishers of the world. Presently he is acting as the Chairman of the Prof. Chittaranjan Kole Foundation for Science & Society and Chief Advisor of The Neotia University. Earlier he served as the Vice-Chancellor of the BC Agricultural University in India and is serving as the President of three international organizations (ICRCGC, IPNC and GII).
