Soil Fungicides contains 13 chapters. In Volume 1 the first chapter deals with introduction definitions history classification formulations and methods of application. Chapters 2 through 8 deal with individual groups of fungicides and their members with regard to their manufacturers chemical name toxicological information mechanism of action and disease control developed for commercial use of experimental work. In Volume 2 Chapters 9 through 12 deal with the various aspects of soil fungicides such as factors affecting their efficacy microbial interactions nontarget effects of pesticides on soil borne plant pathogens and development of resistance to fungicides. In the last chapter evaluations of fungicides have been included because of their significance in the fungicidal recommendation. | About the Author | A. P. Sinha Ph.D. is Senior Research Officer and Project Leader at G.B.. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar India. Dr. Sinha graduated in 1968 from the University of Gorakhpur with a B.Sc. Degree in agriculture. He obtained his M.Sc. (Agric.) in mycology and plant pathology from BanarasHindu University and the Ph.D. degree in plant pathology from Kanpur University. He worked on various aspects of soil fungicides for his Ph.D. degree. Currently Dr. Sinha is Principal Investigator of a research project on Soil Fungicides financed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Kishan Singh Ph.D. is Director of the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research. Dr. Singh received his M.Sc. (Agric.) in 1952 from Agra University and the Ph.D. in 1955 from Louisiana State University U.S. He was appointed Assistant Plant Pathologist at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute New Delhi in 1956 and Mycologist and Head of the Division in 1958 at the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research. Lucknow. In 1968 he was appointed Director of the Institute.
