| About the Author | Engr. Syed Khadim Husain, Chartered Environmental Engineer, obtained his BSc (Engg.) and MIE degrees in 1962 and 1966 with specialization in Environmental Engineering. After serving U.P Govt. Irrigation and Education Departments for 31⁄2 years, he served the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata as Technical officer during 1966-75 where he was incharge of Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering Divisions and Edited Environmental & Civil Engg. journals. During 1975-86, he served Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) where he was incharge of 15 Industrial Divisions and 10 Affiliated Associations representing different sectors of engineering industry and worked closely with Govt. of India for planning, growth, technology development and exports of these sectors at national and international levels. During 1982-86, Engr. Husain worked as General Manager, CII at the Iranian Heavy Industries Ministry, Tehran and served as Industrial Adviser for Indo-Iranian Industrial co-operation and helped in getting biggest Indian Engg. exports orders against stiff international competition. In 1965, Engr. Husain published Public Health Engg. book in SI units along with four other Engg. books. He published this book in 1974 which was approved and subsidized by the Govt. of India for 1st and 2nd editions. Engr. Husain received President of India's Prize for the best Engg. paper in Hindi in 1972. He is the author of 6 Engg. books, about 30 Engg. papers in addition to numerous books/papers/reports/proceedings on various subjects written/compiled/edited by him. He is also an Islamic scholar/author/translator/editor of about 60 books on Islam. |
