About the Author | BV Subrahmanyam MD,DGL,FAFM,DYO,MIAFM,AAFS has over 55 years of experience in the medical profession as a medical officer, clinician, and a teacher in forensic medicine and toxicology, having served in various capacities as a tutor, assistant professor, reader, professor and head, and hospital medical superintendent. He has been looking after teaching of forensic medicine and toxicology, research and casualty supervision of interns at SV Medical College, Tirupati; Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad; Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi; Manipur Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal; and various medical colleges at Baroda,Bhavnagar, Jam Nagar, Surat and Nellore.He is a well-known author of Forensic Psychiatry, Hospital Management and Administration: Principles and Practice Including Law, Forensic Medicine, Toxicology and Medical Jurisprudence 2/e and editor of Parikh's Textbook of Medical Jurisprudence, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, for Classrooms and Courtrooms 9/e published under CBSPD banner. In his distinguished career Prof Subrahmanyam has worked as medical superintendent and dean, establishing casualty, emergencies and critical care and intensive care units, besides running medicolegal, outpatient departments and casualty services. He has been honored with Best Teacher Award by Gujarat Medical Teachers Association, Ujas Award, VB Sahai Award, Lifetime Achievement award, Vikas Award, Haq & Bose Award by Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.
